Illumintel provides policy advising and operations consulting to top-level-domain registry operators and other Internet companies. 

Illumintel's President, Greg Aaron, has managed policy and domain name registry operations for generic and country-code TLDs. Greg was previously Director of Key Account Management and Domain Security at Afilias, where he managed .INFO operations from 2001-2005 and 2008-2011.  Greg oversaw the re-launch of the .IN TLD in 2004, and advised the government of India regarding domain policies from 2004-2008.  He planned and directed the registry rollouts for .MOBI in 2006 and .ME in 2008 and then managed ongoing operations for those TLDs, and planned the launch of .XXX in 2011.   He also created Afilias' anti-abuse and compliance monitoring program, which won an Online Trust Alliance Award in 2010.  Greg is a member of the steering committee of the Anti-Phishing Working Group (APWG), and is the co-author of APWG’s ongoing Global Phishing Survey series, which is the major source of phishing metrics and analysis.

At ICANN, Greg was a member of the Registry Stakeholder Group team that provided business, policy, and operations feedback on the New TLD Applicant Guidebook from 2008 through 2011.  Greg is a member of ICANN's Security and Stability Advisory Committee (SSAC), and was the Chair of ICANN's Registration Abuse Policy Working Group (RAPWG).
